Dhampus Trek

This is one of the shortest, yet most classic treks in Nepal. It passes through country inhabited by a wide diversity of people. It offers spectacular mountain scenery and takes you north of Annapurna & Mt. Machhapuchare (Fishtail) ranges. This region is heavily settled and farmed. Sarankot is an ideal vantage point to view both a sunrise & sunset within the majestic Himalayan range. You will have views of mountains from Dhaulagiri, and Annapurna, including the magnificent Mt. Machhapuchare (Fish Tail). Sarankot village is perched on the North West of Pokhara with enchanting views of Pokhara Valley and the Phewa Lake. This is not only a remarkable trek, but one of the most popular treks in Nepal. It passes through beautiful countryside inhabited by highly diversified communities of people. This region is heavily settled by the mid hills tribe "Gurungs." Gurungs are the famous Gurkha soldiers in the British, Indian, and Nepalese Army. This trek offers excellent scenery encompassing the Himalayan Range to give an encompassing taste to the trekking in Nepal, in a short amount of time.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
Meet by our representative at the airport. Drive to hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu.
Half day visit of Kathmandu city and Swayambhunath. PM: Free, preparation for the trekking. O/N hotel.
Day 03: Kathmandu - Pokhara
Six hours scenic drive through Prithvi highway by tourist bus or car or 20 Minute Fly.
Day 04: Pokhara - Birethanti - Ghandrung
Duration: 2 hrs drive& 5 hrs trek
After breakfast drive to Birethanti 45 kms and start the trek along the stream. It is a beautiful but steep walk passing by waterfalls and Magar villages to the Ghandrung. Stay overnight over there with the beautiful views of Ghandrung.
Day 05: Ghandrung - Dhampus
Duration: 6 hrs
A gentle climb through pasture and cultivated fields. As the trail climbs higher, you walk up beside the cascading river through refreshingly cool oak and rhododendron forest to the Dhampus.
Day 06: Dhampus - Pokhara
Duration: 3 hrs
A short walk down hill to Phedi passing few tea shops and few local houses. From Phedi 30 mins drive to Pokhara.
Day 07: Pokhara - Kathmandu
Drive back to Kathmandu by Car / Van / Tourist Bus (6hrs) or Fly (20minute)
Day 08: Departure
